Getting the right size shoes and socks – kid’s shoe sizes Swedish (European)/American/UK

Children’s long-term foot health can be affected by the shoes they wear when they are young. From blisters to corns, the wrong size shoes can even cause problems with posture. To help you choose the right size for your kid’s feet, here is our guide.

Little feet - Love by Anna

Measuring sticks are available but we find the best way to measure little feet is to draw round each foot on a piece of paper, while the child stands on it. You want them standing on it with their full weight on the foot you are drawing around to make the foot spread out properly. Once you have drawn around their feet, you can then measure the drawing.

Measure the length from the top of the big toe to the bottom of the heal in a straight line. Then, pick the correct shoe size in the chart below. Choose summer shoes that have at least 1cm extra space and up to 2cms space in winter shoes.

There are also apps that help you measure your children’s feet, such as iPad - Love by Annahttps://www.mamamia.com.au/app-to-measure-kids-shoe-size but we don’t recommend standing on a screen – it might break! However, iPad foot measuring maybe coming soon to a Clarks store near you 😊 http://www.bbc.com/news/business-32738088 In the meantime, let us know how you get on with measuring your little one’s feet.
